Callan has been allocated €862,000 to the Friary Complex in Mill Street under the Government Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF).
The new funding allocation is to go to developmental and regeneration of the Friary Complex which will include the relocation of Callan Library to the Friary and the setup of a Digital Working Hub, Youth Community Space and Art Space.
These new developments will add to the existing purpose built Droichead Childcase facility which is already setup within the Friary complex grounds enabling the wider community to benefit from the Friary which is located in the centre of the town.
