Callan Library

Callan Library provides a range of services to our local community, its much more then just books!

Free Membership:
It’s free to join Callan Library or any other Library in Ireland, you can join on-line or by visiting Callan Library. When you are joining be sure to bring with you proof of your current address and photo ID.

Stock:
The Library carries a wide variety of different types of stock for lending: Books: novels and factual books for adults, teenagers and children – Daily and Local newspapers – Books on CD/MP3 – Language Courses – Multicultural – Adult Literacy Collections – Music CDs – Driver Theory Test Book/CD-ROM.

Internet Services:
Internet access is available in all our branches.

There is no charge for Internet use for members; there is a charge of €3.00 for non-members per half hour; there is a charge for printouts.

Children’s Services:
Books – CDs – Author visits – Book Clubs – Activities – Children’s Summer Reading Challenge – Storytelling etc.

Teenagers:
There are dedicated Young Adult sections with appropriate books and popular music selections in all branches.

Requests:
Patrons may reserve items for collection at the library of their choice. (A patron may have a maximum of 12 reserves at any one time).

Block Loans:
The Library provides block loans for community groups and institutions.

Reference Material:
There are comprehensive reference sections in all library branches which include: encyclopaedias, dictionaries, directories, atlases etc. These can be referred to in the library but cannot be borrowed.

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 2pm – 5pm; 5.30pm-8pm
Wednesday: 10am-1pm; 2pm-5pm
Thursday: 10am-1pm; 2pm-5pm
Friday:Closed
Saturday: 10am- 1.30pm
Sunday: Closed
(Closed on Saturdays before a public holiday)
