Call for memories of stories from Power’s Drapery shop

Róisín Power Hackett who is the granddaughter of the late Seamus and Della Power from Power’s Draper shop on Bridge Street in Callan is visual artist and writer and is seeking people’s assistance.

In 2018 Róisín produced an artist book ‘The Irish House: A Psychogeographical Map’, this publication outlined her memories, and the history of the drapery shop on Bridge Street.

Now Róisín wants to expand her research further and is seeking stories and memories about visits to Power’s Drapery shop on Bridge Street.

These stories or memories are welcome from anyone. Once collected there will be an event in the evening of Wednesday 20th April in Fennelly’s on Bridge Street where the stories will be performed.
